A Home for a Toy
Independent
Suggested ages 3–8 · A few familiar large toys, paper, age-appropriate crayons
“Choose a toy. What kind of home could you make for it?”
- Start
- An adult places the materials in a safe, visible play area and offers the first step.
- Easier
- One toy and a simple outline.
- More open
- Two different homes, or a whole imaginary neighborhood.
- Adult note
- Choose materials appropriate to the child, avoiding small pieces for children who mouth objects. Remain appropriately available.
- Finish
- Optional reflection: “What did you decide?” Nothing to upload or photograph.
